Connecting via Ceremony

A range of ceremonies for life’s personal, family and community transitions

Connecting with Yourself

Life can often feel like an ever-increasing treadmill, and it’s easy to lose ourselves in the chaos.

Are you looking for a neutral, safe space where you can talk through current issues; a place where there is no judgement and no right or wrong? I use powerful listening, reflection and compassionate communication (NVC) to connect with you and listen for your needs.

Is your heart: Broken? Stuck? Shut down? Do you experience a sense of depression (stuck in past regrets or pain) or anxiety (worry about the future)? It is quite possible that you are experiencing unprocessed grief. Grief is the normal and natural reaction to any type of loss, either recent or accumulated over time. Ongoing grief is the incomplete emotional communication linked with loss.

We also know that the following societal messages are myths:

– time heals all wounds
– keep busy
– grieve alone
– be strong
– look on the bright side
– replace the loss

We are all advised to “Let go” and “Move on” after losses of all kinds. Most of us would do that if we knew how.

How can I help?  I am a Grief Recovery Method specialist, trained via The Grief Recovery Institute. This is an evidence-based action program for moving beyond death, relationship endings and other losses. It can be done one on one or in a group, face to face or via zoom.

Loss teaches you to close your heart, and armour up.
Healing teaches you to open your heart and boundary up.

In Bronnie Ware’s book “The Top Five Regrets of the Dying” she cites the most common regrets
expressed by the people she had cared for:

I wish I hadn’t worked so hard
I wish I had the courage to express my feelings
I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends
I wish I had let myself be happier
I wish I had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

If any of these speak to you, contact me for a no obligation conversation.

Connecting with Others

We are social creatures
and constantly
connecting with others;
work teams, friends, family
and intimate relationships.

I can support you to improve the quality of these connections.

Forming new project teams;
Conflict resolution;
Designing and delivering effective meetings/workshops;
Improving communication skills;
Your organisation’s people/HR lifecycle: from alignment around purpose & culture through to recruitment, induction, career management, learning & development, and handing over.

I have many years of corporate/business HR and training experience, which I combine with the skills learnt on my own personal development expedition, so I am able provide pragmatic and practical, advice and support.

In addition, I collaborate with Zenergy Global. We are known for our 25+ years of research and programme delivery in the areas of facilitation, coaching and co-operacy.

Connecting via Ceremony

It is important to celebrate or grieve major life events with the grace and respect they deserve.

I can support you with the following:

Baby namings;
Weddings/Civil Unions/Commitment Ceremonies;
Personal Transitions through Change eg: divorce, retirement, house moves;
Community events eg: club mergers/closings, celebrations;
Frameworks for family research and reunions;
Funerals/Memorials/Ashes Scatterings;
Pet Farewells.

Quality ceremonial design ensures the level of connection and depth that major life events deserve. I work closely with you to ensure your ceremony is  personally crafted and reflects the essence of the people or person the ceremony is for. Alternatively, if you would prefer something more simple or are trying to keep costs down, an intimate option starts from $90 for a marriage and $285 for a funeral. I donate 10% of my income from ceremonies to our local charity, Love Soup.

One of my passions is assisting people through change and transition. We encounter many endings and beginnings during our lives. Creating a simple ceremony that supports you or your family to move through these phases can be a powerful tool.

It is also important to have your affairs in order, as none of us know what day will be our last. Ask me for a free checklist so you can start your planning.

I am a validated member of CANZ and hold a Diploma in Celebrant Studies
